Basilica of St. Euphemia

The Basilica of Santa Eufemia, characterized by early Christian buildings, stands in the splendid setting of Campo dei Patriarchi in the “old town” in Grado.
Nearby you will also find the spider, the fifteenth-century bell tower characterized by the Anzolo San Michele which represents the symbol of Grado; the Baptistery; the Lapidarium and the Basilica of Santa Maria della Grazie, the oldest in the town.

Lungomare Nazario Sauro

The Lungomare Nazario Sauro is a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea of Grado. On clear days, you can see the profiles of the nearby cities, such as Lignano Sabbiadoro and Trieste, which is more than 50 kilometers away. From the Lungomare, finally, you can easily reach the Town Hall Gardens and the central Piazza della Corte, with the remains of the ancient basilica. Suitable for walking even with children both in winter and in summer.

Barbana Island

The spiritual charm of the sanctuaries is often amplified by the splendid landscapes offered by the places that host them: this is also the case for the tiny island of Barbana, in the Grado lagoon, where this Marian shrine of ancient origins is located, today home to a community of Friars Franciscan Minors. Easily accessible by boat, the start of the excursion is 100 meters from the property.

Ciclovia Alpe Adria Radweg

The Alpe Adria Radweg Cycleway is an extraordinary 400 km long cycle path that crosses the Alps in full to connect the Austrian city of Salzburg to the famous Italian tourist and thermal center of Grado, overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Beautiful experience that can be done crossing the long bridge that connects the Roman city Aquileia with the city of Grado. Every year it is traveled by thousands of cyclists.

The harbour

Grado’s old harbour, which since ancient times has been the centre of Grado’s economic life, with its typical Y shape wanted by the Austro-Hungarians, also represents the town’s seafront with bars, cafés, restaurants and shops.
In the typical atmosphere of a seaside town, the harbour that never sleeps. In the first hours of the morning it is the place where you will see the fishing boats come back with their fresh catch, which you can buy at the fish market, managed by the fishermen’s cooperative association and situated at the end of the Porto Mandracchio canal.
